In Indonesia, this definition refers to Indonesian Migrant Workers, both male and female, who are scattered in several countries. The sending of Indonesian Migrant Workers is still ongoing to developed economic countries around Asia such as Taiwan, Singapore, Brunei, Korea, Japan and Malaysia, and also to various Middle Eastern countries, such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait. The sending of Indonesian Migrant Workers is carried out due to high demand from these destination countries, also due to several things, namely the lack of employment opportunities in Indonesia and the insufficient amount of the promised salary.
The placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers abroad is a national program in an effort to improve the welfare of the workforce and their families as well as to develop the quality of human resources. The placement of workers outside can be done by utilizing the international job market through improving the quality of the competence of the workforce accompanied by optimal protection from before departure, while working abroad until arriving back in Indonesia. Based on a high sense of optimism with the support of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in the future, it has encouraged and triggered Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Companies, especially PT. WIRA KARITAS on Jl. Kapten Sumarsono No. 105 with legal registration number KEP 607/MEN/2016 to succeed the Government's program in an effort to reduce unemployment and increase the country's foreign exchange through the Overseas Manpower Placement program.
PT. WIRA KARITAS actually originated from a Social Foundation called the WIRA KARITAS Foundation at that time. In 1990, it was oriented towards the development of Indonesian Youth which was expected to be efficient and effective in the future, independently and professionally.
And after seeing the guidance from the community, especially from the members of the foundation, the higher the need for job opportunities, then to answer this challenge on July 20, 1991, a legal company was formed, namely PT. WIRA KARITAS which in its Deed of Establishment states the main field of activity is the Manpower Service Company.
This is also a form of manifestation of the implementation of the 1945 Constitution Article 27 Paragraph 2 which reads that every citizen has the right to work and a decent life for humanity.
Advanced with SIUP NO. KEP /504 / MEN / 1991 then PT. WIRA KARITAS started its role as a Placement Company for Indonesian Migrant Workers in accordance with applicable laws and regulations with all its ups and downs.
